“I rang Hamid to get a free, no obligation quote on cleaning and possibly repairing a Persian rug that I purchased recently on Trademe. I had no expectation on the cost but like most Kiwis I’m not an expert on Persian rugs. I approached him with a budget in mind that I did not wish to exceed especially on top of the purchase price of the rug. I also listened to his expertise on what was required to restore the rug back to its glory days! In summary the quote was much higher than I anticipated and my heart sank bigtime. But then Hamid took the time to confirm that my rug purchase was an authentic Iranian handwoven 60-70 year old Persian rug that was still in good condition for its age but also its value was high. He asked really pertinent questions as to the fundamental use of the rug in my home to which I replied under a coffee table. Hamid then advised various ways to maintain and preserve the rug overtime. He gave his opinion and his advice on my options and left me to decide. The key element was explaining the delicate process and numerous labor hours required to clean and repair a rug without compromising its quality, as opposed to a typical quick machine clean by companies at a cheaper price. The great thing about Hamid is that he doesn’t do shortcuts nor does he push the hardsell on you to grab your business. Its about the quality of his work matching the needs and expectation of the client. Hamid is a trusted professional and very knowledgeable in this industry.
